Your Lifestyle is Your Medicine

Ed Paget is an osteopath, writer, presenter, and the creator of the Scoliosis and Back Pain Correction Protocols. With over 15 years of experience working with private clients, he has developed a unique system of assessments and treatments that uncover the underlying causes of pain and injury by addressing compensations in the body. His approach has led to work with the Canadian National Speed Skating team and invitations to the Sochi Olympics as part of Team Canada’s medical team. Ed has also shared his Fascia Stretching Protocol (F.A.S.T) with the National Alpine Ski and Biathlon teams.

In his one-on-one treatments, Ed focuses on finding the root cause of pain or dysfunction, understanding that if not addressed, symptoms will return. He assesses movement quality, from large motions like arm movements to subtle cues like breathing patterns. Believing that true health comes from movement, Ed tailors his approach to each individual, considering factors like diet, movement habits, stress, family history, sleep quality, and mindset. Ed works with clients ready to embrace change, ask tough questions, and adopt new perspectives to achieve lasting health.

Ed Paget was one of the first osteopaths to practice in Alberta, Canada, helping pioneer the profession there. He served as Chair of the Alberta Association of Osteopathic Practitioners for 10 years and was a founding board member of the Canadian Federation of Osteopaths. Ed founded Intrinsi, a fully integrated health clinic, and played a key role in obtaining B-Corp certification, making it the first osteopathic clinic in the world to achieve this.

Ed innovated within the profession by paying employees a salary rather than commission, making it easier for new osteopaths to start their careers in Canada. Despite the success of Intrinsi, the stress of running one of Canada's largest osteopathic clinics impacted his health. In 2017, Ed sold the business, moved his family to Nicaragua, and embraced a slower lifestyle focused on family and well-being.

To further his philosophy that "Your Lifestyle Is Your Medicine," Ed traveled the world, learning from various disciplines. He worked with indigenous peoples in Canada and the Philippines and collaborated with researchers like Dr. Terry Wahls. Ed now hosts a podcast of the same name and believes in the importance of challenging both physical and spiritual beliefs.

He now works online helping his clients remotely and with in person Lifestyle Medicine Retreats in Nicaragua.

Osteopathy and movement therapy

Most people want a massage or some physiotherapy when they get injured. They simply don’t know that there are more effective and powerful ways to recover from injury and illness. Using a combination of osteopathy, exercises and lifestyle recommendations has become one of the go to methods of treatment for men and women all over the globe. You see, the way you move is important, if you have muscle imbalances or weaknesses they should be corrected. But equally important can be your what you eat and how you sleep.

When you consult with Ed he will be looking at your life in a holistic way to create a specific plan of recovery just for you. Even though he has worked with Olympic and World Champions he gets just as excited helping anyone who has pain, injury or illness if they want to recover faster.
