A Comprehensive, Three-Dimensional Approach
The potocol provides an easy-to-follow exercise and manual therapy program. The curriculum focuses on managing the four primary scoliotic curve patterns: two S-shape and two C-shape variations.
Through a blend of lectures, demonstrations, and real-world case studies, you will gain a deeper understanding of:
Identification & Natural History: Learn to identify scoliosis on an x-ray and track its progression using the Adam’s test and a scolimeter.
3D Movement Strategies: Master techniques to influence the mobility, strength, and endurance of the spine using three-dimensional movements.
Manual Therapy: Apply functional, hands-on therapy to enhance mobility based on 3D concepts.
Long-Term Care: Develop structured, individualized plans of care designed to slow, stop, or even reduce the progression of adult scoliosis.
The course focuses on the management of the 4 main types of scoliotic curves (2 x S-shape and 2 x C-shape).
Key Topics Covered
The biological, physical and psychological effects of scoliosis
History and current science of scoliosis research.
How to identify the 4 most common curve patterns.
How to manage back pain and scoliosis
Patient and X-ray assessment
22 whole-body tests to look for imbalances that may affect the spine.
Mobility, Strength and Endurance movements to help straighten and strengthen the spine.
The course includes aspects of rehabilitation from the Gray Institute (US) and Spiral Stabilization (Czech Rep).

The Scoliosis Correction Protocol (SCP) is specifically designed for a diverse range of movement and rehabilitation professionals who seek a more effective, three-dimensional approach to spinal care. Because scoliosis management is often under-emphasized in foundational clinical education, this course provides the necessary tools for both manual therapists and movement specialists to bridge that gap.
Who Should Enroll?
This protocol is tailored for professionals dedicated to improving patient outcomes through exercise and manual therapy.
Clinical Practitioners: Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, and Chiropractors looking to refine their diagnostic and manual therapy skills for adult scoliosis.
Rehabilitation Specialists: Exercise Physiologists and Sports Science professionals focused on corrective exercise and long-term spinal health.
Manual Therapists: Massage therapists and bodyworkers interested in applying functional, 3D hands-on concepts to improve spinal mobility.
Movement Educators: Pilates and Yoga instructors and Somatic coaches, who want to level up their skills managing clients with scoliosis and design individualized home programs.

By the conclusion of this course, practitioners will be able to demonstrate competency in the following clinical areas:
1. Advanced Clinical Assessment
Radiographic Interpretation: Accurately identify the four primary scoliotic curve patterns (2 \times S-shape and 2 \times C-shape) on an X-ray to inform clinical decision-making.
Physical Examination: Perform the Adam’s Forward Bend Test and utilize a scolimeter to objectively track trunk rotation and curve progression.
Multisystem Screening: Conduct a comprehensive whole-body assessment, evaluating neurological and mechanical influencers including eye convergence, dental alignment, and lower limb biomechanics (e.g., big toe flexion and foot pronation).
2. Therapeutic Intervention & Exercise Prescription
3D Corrective Exercise: Design and apply targeted exercises in all three anatomical planes of movement to improve spinal mobility, strength, and endurance.
Manual Therapy Integration: Implement functional, hands-on techniques designed to enhance segmental mobility through 3D concepts.
Functional Fitness: Select appropriate whole-body exercises that allow patients to improve general fitness without exacerbating scoliotic curvatures.
3. Patient Management & Rehabilitation Planning
Evidence-Based Protocols: Synthesize current research to develop a structured Plan of Care (POC) aimed at slowing or stopping the natural progression of adult scoliosis.
Home Exercise Programs (HEP): Create and deliver individualized, patient-centered home programs to ensure long-term compliance and self-management.
Biopsychosocial Integration: Incorporate mindset strategies, including mindfulness and habit-stacking, to support the patient’s psychological resilience during long-term rehabilitation
Course Curriculum: The Scoliosis Correction Protocol (SCP)
This professional curriculum is delivered over two intensive days, usually 9-4.30, blending clinical theory with practical, movement-based application. The program follows a structured 7-step protocol designed to move practitioners from foundational assessment to complex corrective exercise
Day 1: Theory, Assessment, and Initial Mobility
The first day focuses on the "Education" and "Assessment" phases of the protocol, ensuring all participants can accurately identify curve types before moving into intervention.

2 days of hands on instruction in Scoliosis Care

Osteopath and Fellow of Applied Functional Science

To be able to learn a 3 Dimensional approach to scoliosis online was a real help to me. There are not a lot of opportunities for continued education where I work so the Scoliosis Correction Protocol™ for professionals was perfect. The way Ed has put the program together makes it easy to follow and it contains is a lot of practical assessment and treatment information that I’ve added to my general treatments, not just for people with scoliosis. I’d recommend it to anyone who is looking to take continued education but doesn’t want to or isn’t able to travel.

Movement Specialist, Strength and Conditioning Coach, and Consultant, USA

I have been looking for practical and applicable course to help my students and athletes best impact their scoliosis. I work with swimmers, runners, actors, models, adults and athletes looking for more comfortable, confident and capable bodies. With the Scoliosis Correction Protocol™ I have an effective and easy to system to learn from and use. With the volume of information out there to choose from, the Scoliosis Correction Protocol™ stands alone in it's value offered and easy to implement system.

PT, FCAMPT, CGIMS Physiotherapist, Medical Director for the Canadian Speed Skating Team at the Sochi Olympics

I worked with Ed professionally at the highest level of Canadian sport for 2 years and was always impressed by his ability to go to the source of a movement problem. At the elite level of sport we look for medical innovators, those people that challenge conventional practice and come out with something better. Ed used a variety of innovative movement screens which would be adapted to each athlete to effectively show us and the athlete where there was a problem. His treatments then blended osteopathic techniques with movement rehab to keep our athletes performing at their best.

Osteopath, Australia

This course first appealed to me because of the ease of doing continued education online. Once I looked into it I realized that a functional 3 dimensional approach to scoliosis was what I needed to take the management of my scoliosis patients to the next level. I’ve been very impressed by the course and the level of support that goes with it.

Osteopath PhD DO

I recently took the Scoliosis Protocol course learning Ed's unique training method for treating patients with scoliosis. Ed is an inspiring teacher, breaking down the complex and making it easy to understand and to do. His method, backed by evidence based medicine, looks at the fundamentals of scoliosis and then designs exercises done standing, sitting, and on an exercise mat. This course is an invaluable aid to all practitioners of manual therapy regardless of your discipline, because it gives you transferable skills that you can use in your practice the very next day, and is strongly recommended.

Osteopath, Scotland

The Scottish Osteopathic Society were delighted to invite Ed to teach his excellent Scoliosis Correction Protocol Course. The course was expertly delivered with a well balanced mix of lectures and practicals. Members reported positively on the quality of the course and their ability to put the protocol into practice from day 1 back in their clinics. Highly recommend this course if you are looking for a clear management plan for people living with scoliosis.

Osteopath, Scotland

I've really enjoyed the 2 day Scoliosis Protocol course in Scotland and find having access to the online course very useful to refer back to when working with patients in clinic. The in person course was invaluable for understanding and solidifying the information of the online course, so I'd definitely recommend the combination to anyone wanting to learn more about managing patients with scoliosis.
